Theme: Lyndon Baines Johnson - A Texas President

Speakers:

Robert A. Caro, Pulitzer-Prize-winning author of three books on LBJ

Jan Jarboe Russell, acclaimed author of biography of Lady Bird Johnson

The second annual sessions of the Texas History Symposium will focus on the impact of the first Texas President and First Lady, Lyndon B. and Lady Bird Johnson.  Together they fundamentally changed politics and society not only in Texas, but across the nation. We are honored to have Robert A. Caro and Jan Jarboe Russell as our speakers.  Caro has written three volumes of a four-book series on Johnson, for which he has received many awards.  Russell, a longtime columnist for Texas Monthly, is the author of a popular study of the former First Lady, entitled Lady Bird.
