Donations The Donald F. Baker Fund in the Study of Sexualities Education…the tool to understanding. The Undergraduate Minor in the Study of Sexualities at UNT was founded in memory of the educational work of Donald Floyd Baker (1947-2000). Mr. Baker’s family created this endowment to honor his many contributions as a community activist and lifetime educator. Two years after publicly identifying himself as a gay teacher in Dallas ISD, he was a plaintiff in Baker v. Wade, a lawsuit challenging Texas Penal Code 21.06 that criminalized homosexual contact between consenting adults in private. A documentary featuring his crusade won a Katie Award from the Press Club in Dallas in 2000. The family and friends of Don Baker invite you to be a part of remembering the man and his mission: Education…the tool to understanding. All contributions to the Don Baker Fund are tax deductible.
