Objectives/Theme

The Teaching of History Conference is primarily intended for those who teach at the survey level in college or in grades four through twelve.  Speakers will emphasize course content, but they will also provide bibliographies of the most important studies relative to their topics and offer suggestions concerning teaching methods.  Thus the conference's objective is to offer a day of informative and stimulating presentations and thereby aid in improving the teaching of history.  The theme of the 2008  Conference, "Adventurers and Innovators in History," provides an opportunity to hear outstanding scholars discuss topics relating to individuals who shaped Texas, the United States, and the World.
